it's coming!...

Gift package from Alt Summit sponsor: We Love Citrus

Not to be all dramatic but...it's coming. Have you heard? The biggest weekend of my blogging, um, career? is just around the corner! Alt Summit, the greatest blog conference in, like, the world, is in SLC and I am going. Did you hear that? I AM GOING! I'm a little (well A LOT) excited. This blog conference means several important things for my life and this little blog's life.

My besty is the best. Clint bought me an early Christmas gift back in August and it was a ticket to Alt and you know, he is pretty great.

Have blog, will grow. Alt Summit boasts some the most wonderful and talented bloggers, sponsors, and social media gurus around...with a resource and opportunity like that, I must, just must, work my tushy off to learn from them, and grow this brand.

Wardrobe woes. One of the most defining features of Alt is attendees' commitment to fantastic attire. I mean I have been meditating outfit choices for 8 months. Most of these fabulously creative people work from a computer at home, so when they get to meet like minds in the flesh...sequins, heals, and bling are bound to make an appearance.

I mean business...cards that is. Next to wardrobe (and probably more importantly) business cards are very important. It's this little card-stock piece of you-your heart and soul-in a little bundle. A gift for others and you hope they look you up and enjoy! I am seriously stressing about my cards. Seriously.

MIA. There is a slight chance that all this Alt prep will have me running around like a headless chicken so I may go missing. But know I am in action!

Thanks. Faithful friends, family, followers...thanks for following me for this first year in my blogging life. Your support has helped me to recognize a passion I didn't even know I had. Thank you thank you!

  1. I totally feel the same way as you on so many of those points. So far I have one dress and one pair of shoes - they don't necessarily go together. I spent 2 hours at the Mall yesterday and NOTHING. I'm looking online now. You are also making me stress about business cards. Ahhhhh! I have some from Minted, very general and not totally unique (quality at least). We definitely need to meet up. Do you know anyone else attending? I feel like I might be sitting by myself :( You have done so well with your blog in one year. It's beautiful and your posts have great content. It's taken me a lot longer to get where I am.

    1. Jeran of course we should sit together! I bet tons of attendees are nervous they will be sitting alone but I'm sure we'll all have friends fast at Alt. As far as business cards go, I priced out letterpress, debossing, foil print, embossing, and digital print. All but digital print would run me at least $350 for 100 cards! So I went with simple digital print (which is the least fancy) for $50 for 200 cards. I am just going to add some cute packaging and count on my card graphics to be a win, and not break the bank ;). Meanwhile you and I can stress together about what we will wear!

  2. Hello there! I just found your blog and I love it! I'm also going to ALT and am beyond excited :) Also glad to hear that I'm not the only one stressing about things like business cards and outfit planning ;) Have you done any of the online classes? It's been a great way to find other people attending.

Jeran, you definitely won't be sitting alone! It seems like the people attending the conference are some of the friendliest I've met :) It would be fun to meet up, I love meeting new blogger friends :)

  4. Hooray! Excited to meet you at alt!
I know what you mean about business cards. I just won my ticket on the 31st of December so I've had very little time to put one together and I'm freaking out! My husband doesn't fully get just how good these cards need to be. I don't think anyone outside of alt minded people can fully understand it ;)
